Peter Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English comedian, writer, producer, director and actor. Peter Kay was born in Bolton, Lancashire, and attended Mount St Joseph High School, leaving with one GCSE in Art. Peter Kay took several menial jobs, including working in a toilet roll factory, Netto supermarket, a Cash and Carry, and a Bingo Hall, which later inspired episodes or sequences in That Peter Kay Thing. During his time working as a cinema usher, he experimented with stand-up, participating in several local events as well as others at the Comedy Store in Manchester. After losing his job at the cinema, Peter Kay was presented with the choice between finding another menial job or moving into comedy.

Peter Kay first stand-up was a competition in Manchester hosted by later co-star and co-writer of Phoenix Nights, Dave Spikey. Peter Kay was last on the bill and won the competition, beating fellow stand-up comedian Johnny Vegas. Peter Kay earliest appearance was an interview with Granada Television in which he listed the contents of his room, as well as detailing his experience meeting Jimmy Savile. This would later be used in That Peter Kay Thing in the role of Leonard de Tomkinson. Peter Kay's experience working at the Manchester Evening News Arena inspired him to wear the official yellow jacket of the MEN Arena for the final performance of his Mum Wants a Bungalow tour Peter Kay has said that he sought a career in comedy.

After Peter Kay entered and won Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny contest in 1997, his first' semi-professional stand-up appearances were at the 1998 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he received a prestigious Perrier Award nomination. In 2003, Peter Kay was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 Funniest British Comedians and also edited one page of Nuts magazine. In addition, Peter kay made an appearance in a 2005 poll of comedians and critics to find The Comedians' Comedian, a search for the 50 greatest funnymen of all time. In March 2005 Peter Kay also came top in a survey sponsored by the Jongleurs comedy club chain to find Britain's favourite comedian. In 2006, a Channel 4 television show 100 Greatest Funny Moments voted him at the Number 1 spot, most notably for his stand-up act, Mum Wants a Bungalow tour at the Bolton Albert Halls, including his description of a family wedding and Bullseye.

Peter Kay work includes That Peter Kay Thing (2000), Phoenix Nights (2001), Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere (2004), Britain's Got the Pop Factor... (2008) and other independent productions. Peter Kay has released two autobiographies called The Sound of Laughter and Saturday Night Peter. Peter Kay has appeared on numerous chat shows, including Parkinson and The Paul O'Grady Show.

Peter Kay's first TV project was in an episode of New Voices, a comedy series which showcased up and coming talent.  After appearing on BBC2's The Sunday Show presenting his own slot entitled "Peter Kay's World of Entertainment", Peter Kay made an episode of Channel 4's The Comedy Lab, "The Services", in 1998.  After a favourable reception to the pilot, That Peter Kay Thing was devised. It was based solely on the experiences of Peter Kay 's earlier life working in several menial jobs.

Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights was his notable TV programme, written by him, Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice and set in a newly refurbished social club run by wheelchair-bound Brian Potter. The club was based on an episode of That Peter Kay Thing entitled "In The Club". The cast of Phoenix Nights was made up almost entirely of stand-up comics whom the writers had met on 'the circuit'. The show was an immediate hit. Max & Paddy's Road to Nowhere was a spin-off of Phoenix Nights. Featuring the bouncer characters from the show played by Peter Kay and Patrick McGuinness and even featured at times characters from Phoenix Nights. On 17 April 2006, Channel 4 broadcast a "Peter Kay Night", showing out-takes from Phoenix Nights (previously featured on DVD), a behind-the-scenes documentary of the Mum Wants a Bungalow tour and also the whole Peter Kay Live in Manchester show.

In 2000, Peter Kay guest appeared in one episode of the popular police drama Heartbeat playing a thief. Peter Kay also sang at the end of the episode. Peter Kay appeared on stage at the Queen + Paul Rodgers concert at Manchester's MEN Arena (with Patrick McGuinness) and in Hyde Park in 2005 both as himself and in the persona of Brian Potter. Peter Kay also appeared at the BBC's televised charity event Comic Relief in 2003 and 2005, sharing the stage with Alan Partridge (actor Steve Coogan) in 2003.

Our trip to Thailand had been long awaited, originally planned for winter 94/95. My wife Karin had bought maps and books and even packed and we had to leave. The balloon was ready at Thunder and Colt with a heavy basket adapted for hard use overseas. And then they went bust. The delay meant that we missed quite a short window for the flight to Thailand. It was rainy old England for most of the winter and a rethinking of the plan for us. I was invited to go there, John Nunns, formerly worked for him in South Africa flying passenger ride balloons.

Jon interest in Thailand of several business trips he probably had the most experience of flying in Thailand. The sky balloons agent in Thailand managed to sell one of the balloons leave the production line for a couple of business men who wanted to learn to fly, and fly in the advertising banners, I will come again, this time on the train and point them the right way.

So, after a fantastic summer passenger flying to England, he had to leave at the Quantas Jumbo from snowy December Heathrow. We caught a connecting flight in Bangkok to Chaing Mai, a city in the North which is situated in south-east Asia Games (SEA Games), our first port of call. John, returning from SAGA, was there for three days in order to facilitate us to understand things.

Our hosts were able to find a sponsor of the mobile phone company, and we had a heavy schedule in the future. The city was humming with the activities related to games, and it was a great pleasure to be there. In general, we flew through the town in the mornings and in the main stadium in the evening.

At the stadium itself was about 10 km from the city center and lay under the east facing slope, which, of course, moved in the shadows in the evening to fly over the stadium, rather than in open countryside, in the morning were able to take us to the slope, rather than from the west, which was not a good idea, as there were about 50 kilometers of forests and national parks to the next road.

Typically, the majority of the wind direction can be found and stay in the city center within an hour or so and then climbing and departing was fairly easy.

I must say that the Northern Thai seems to be more fun loving than their Southern compatriots. To this end, they enjoy the fireworks exploded and balloons carrying balls of burning fabric cloth to keep them in the air. Not uncommon to see 10 or so cross the night sky glowing red when drinking beer. Their recovery is quite high, but I flew with some at 3000. However, the civilian run Prime Minister Office had great pressure and they feel they need to relax and, incidentally, that we could tell them about the other balloons and airships in Chaing Mai (you get the picture that this is a warning). It turned out that we had in the winning combination, but they really should tell us not love in the first place. It is the only request was that I did not fly higher than 500. "Now! With pleasure. So, after all the fun and games was to leave the train up to three people in total: two of our agents and business men. To get started, we went to the Rayong area to SE of Bangkok known for its beach resort Pattaya. They do more, where to train there. Unfortunately, it proved too coastal and the sea breeze knockout evening flights, and the land breeze in the morning. Our permission was only 25 square kilometers, so that we could not go any further inland.

No problem, as one of the guys had family members from a farm near Kanchanaburi, building a bridge over the River Kwai in western countries. It is here that a lot of preparation has been done. The signal for us was the beginning of a series of fireworks the ninth being our go. In practice, we could not fly due to wind we saw that the marching bands had left and we will certainly stage. You know, Whats next next.1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 Go, we have grown because of the construction to see that still stood there, down between them all that I had my official hopped out with the football and handed it to the President of Yamaha, and we are quickly deflated ball! no way was I going to fly out on that one!
